Alright, let’s talk about this 3BB internet and GigaTV thing, you know, the stuff they got these days for your TV and computer. I ain’t no expert, but I’ll tell ya what I know, just like I’m talkin’ to ya over the fence.
First off, they got these things they call “packages,” like bundles, you know? It’s like when you buy a whole bunch of vegetables at the market, you get a better deal than buyin’ ’em one by one. These 3BB folks, they give you internet and TV all together. They say it’s faster internet, somethin’ called “gigabits,” sounds fancy, huh? Faster than my old rooster chasin’ a hen, that’s for sure.
Now, about the cost, that’s where it gets tricky. They got different prices, dependin’ on how fast you want your internet and what kind of TV stuff you wanna watch. I heard tell of one package, starts at somethin’ like 690 baht. That ain’t chicken feed, but it ain’t a king’s ransom neither. But mind you, that’s just the startin’ price. They got other packages, maybe faster internet, more TV channels, and them things gonna cost you more.
What’s this GigaTV thing anyway? Well, it’s like watchin’ TV, but not with that old antenna on the roof. It comes through that same wire that brings the internet. They say you get lots of channels, movies, shows, all that jazz. More stuff to watch than I got time for, that’s for sure. I’d rather be out in the garden, but the young’uns, they like this stuff. They can even watch it on their phones, if they ain’t got nothin’ better to do with their eyes. This GigaTV, you can watch it even if you ain’t at home, long as you got that internet thing on your phone, they call it 4G or 5G, or Wi-Fi, fancy names for somethin’ that lets you see things on a small screen.
- Speed: You get different speeds, like walkin’, runnin’, or flyin’. The faster you want it, the more it costs. They measure it in somethin’ called “Mbps” and “Gbps.” Don’t ask me what it means, just know that bigger numbers mean faster.
- Channels: That’s the TV stuff, you know, like the news, the stories, the sports. More channels usually mean more money.
- Contracts: Sometimes they make you sign up for a long time, like a year or two. Gotta be careful with them contracts, make sure you know what you’re gettin’ into.
Now, they got this thing about hookin’ it all up, the internet and the TV. They call it “installation.” And, wouldn’t you know, they wanna charge you for that too! I heard it’s somethin’ like 4,800 baht. That’s a lot of money, enough to buy a good piglet! But, they say if you stay with them for a long time, like two years, they won’t charge you that fee. But if you quit early, they gonna get you for that money. Sneaky, ain’t they?
So, if you’re thinkin’ about gettin’ this 3BB internet and GigaTV, you gotta think about what you need and how much you wanna spend. Don’t let them city slickers fool ya with all their fancy talk. Ask questions, make ‘em explain it plain, like I’m doin’ for ya now. And read the fine print, you know, the small writin’ at the bottom, that’s where they hide the stuff they don’t want you to see. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
One more thing, this GigaTV, they say you can use it with somethin’ called a “Chromecast.” Sounds like somethin’ you’d find on a tractor, but it ain’t. It’s this thing you plug into your TV, and it lets you watch stuff from your phone on the big screen. So, if you got one of them smartphones, and you got that GigaTV app, you can watch your shows on the big TV, if you want to. Too much technology for an old woman like me, but the young folks, they seem to like it.
So that’s the long and short of it. 3BB internet and GigaTV, it costs money, but it gives you fast internet and lots of TV. Just be careful, read the fine print, and don’t let ‘em charge you more than you can afford. And if you don’t understand somethin’, ask somebody who does. Or just come ask me, I might not know all the fancy words, but I can tell you if somethin’ smells fishy.
Now, I gotta go feed the chickens. This talkin’ about all this technology stuff is makin’ my head spin. Good luck to ya, and don’t get swindled!
