Well, let me tell ya, this new Windows 11 build 26040 sure ain’t like the old ones, that’s for sure. Now, I’m no tech expert, but I been fiddlin’ with this thing and there’s a few changes that caught my eye. They say it’s got a whole new setup for how you start up the computer, and let me tell ya, it’s a sight different than what we used to have. I think they call it a “Windows Setup UI update,” but all I know is, it looks more polished now, real nice, like when you clean the windows in the house and it lets in a lot more light.
Now, there’s this thing called File Explorer compression wizard. Don’t ask me to explain all the ins and outs of it, but from what I gathered, it’s a way to make your files smaller so they don’t take up so much space. You can zip them up real good, just like when we pack stuff into jars for the winter. You know, it’s always nice to have some extra room for new things, and this build helps you do just that.
And don’t get me started on these Windows Share changes. Now, I ain’t the best when it comes to sharing things on the computer, but I reckon these updates make it easier to send stuff to your friends or family or whoever else might need it. They’ve made it simpler, like how you pass a bowl of soup around the table at dinner time, real smooth and no fuss.
There’s also somethin’ about this Windows Server Flighting thing. Now, I’m not one to get into the whole server business, but from what I gather, it means Windows Insider folks can now test the Windows Server and get their hands on updates. That’s all fine and dandy, I suppose, for folks that work in the tech world, but for me, I just want the thing to work without too much hassle.
As for the version, well, I reckon it’s 23H2 with OS build 22631. I ain’t sure what all that means, but I’m guessin’ that’s just another fancy way of sayin’ this is the latest and greatest version. You can even update your older Windows 11 (version 22H2) to the newer one quicker than a rabbit runnin’ through a field. If you got the right kind of computer, that is.
All in all, I’d say this new build ain’t too bad. Sure, it’s got a bunch of newfangled stuff, but when you get right down to it, it’s still Windows 11 at heart. If you’ve been usin’ Windows for a while, it’s just like puttin’ on an old pair of shoes. A little newer, a little fancier, but still comfortable enough for you to use every day.
So, if you’re lookin’ to try out the Windows 11 build 26040, don’t be shy. Just give it a whirl and see what all the fuss is about. Who knows, you might like it! Just don’t forget to back up your stuff, ‘cause sometimes these updates can make a mess if you ain’t careful.
