Ah, y’all ever tried to make Foobar work right with them notifications on Windows 10? It’s like tryin’ to get a stubborn mule to move, no matter what ya do, it just don’t listen! I been fussin’ with it for a while, tryin’ to get the thing to show me a lil’ pop-up when the song changes, but let me tell ya, it ain’t been easy.
Now, I reckon some folks might have a better time with it, but for me, Foobar and Windows 10 just don’t get along. First thing I did was go messin’ with them settings, y’know? I turned off the integration with Windows 10, then turned it back on. Thought that might fix it, but nope! Still no notification. Ain’t that somethin’?
What I Did to Try and Fix It:
- I disabled and enabled the Windows 10 integration in Foobar.
- I applied the changes, restarted Foobar, and hoped for the best.
- But still, all I get is some message that says “New notification,” and that’s about it. Ain’t no song info, no volume control, nothin’! Not like it’s supposed to be.
Now, if y’all are havin’ the same trouble, I reckon it ain’t just me. Seems like when you’re usin’ Foobar with Windows 10, that notification tooltip that’s supposed to pop up when the song changes don’t always show up like it should. I tried messin’ around with all them settings in both Windows and Foobar, but it just won’t work for me.
What Should Happen with Foobar and Notifications:
- When the song changes, there oughta be a nice lil’ pop-up notification showin’ you the name of the song, and maybe even the volume and seek bar too.
- This notification comes from the system tray—y’know, that lil’ area in the bottom-right corner of your screen where your clock is and all them icons live.
It’s a real shame ’cause I used to like Foobar a lot. It’s a mighty fine media player, real easy on the system and free to boot. You can get it on Windows, and they even got a version for phones too. But this notification thing, well, it’s been a thorn in my side for a long while. Ain’t no way to get them song change alerts to pop up like they should.
Now, I know some folks say it ain’t a Windows 10 problem, but I reckon it might be. Or maybe it’s just Foobar’s own quirks. Either way, I still got my hopes up. Maybe if I keep messin’ with the settings enough, I’ll get it workin’ one day. But for now, I just gotta make do without the notifications.
Things You Might Want to Try (If You’re Like Me):
- First, check your Windows 10 notification settings. Go into the Security app by clickin’ that lil’ shield icon in the taskbar, or searchin’ for it in the start menu. Look for the “Notifications” section and see if you got it all turned on.
- If that don’t work, maybe fiddle with the Foobar settings for notification area. You want to make sure it’s set to show up on song change.
- And don’t forget to restart Foobar after you mess with them settings. Sometimes that’s all it takes to make it work right!
I reckon if you do all that, you might just get lucky and have them notifications start poppin’ up like they should. But if not, well, we’ll just have to wait and see if they fix it down the road.
But don’t let this little hiccup stop you from enjoyin’ your tunes. Foobar is still one of the best audio players out there. It might not have the notifications workin’ right now, but it sure does play the music good!
