Alright, alright, let’s talk about this here… macaron tower thing. I saw them fancy pictures, you know, on that… what’s it called… Pint-interest? Yeah, that’s it. Looks all highfalutin, but listen here, it ain’t rocket science. Even this old woman can figure it out, so you sure can too.
First off, you gotta get yourself one of them cone thingies. Not the ice cream kind, mind you, but the foamy kind. Like, the stuff they use for, I dunno, crafts and such. You know, the kinda stuff you find at the dollar store. Wrap that sucker up in some tissue paper. Why? Well, ’cause it looks prettier, that’s why. And nobody wants an ugly tower, right?
Now, for the macarons. Don’t go breakin’ the bank on them fancy Frenchy ones. Unless you got money to burn, then go ahead. But the store-bought ones work just fine. Get yourself about 50 of ‘em, the smallish kind, they say about 1.5 inches or somethin’. And get yourself some toothpicks. Lots of ‘em. They say 62, but you know, better safe than sorry. Grab a handful, you’ll be fine.
So, how you gonna stick them macarons on there? Easy peasy. You take a toothpick, stick it in the macaron, not all the way through, mind you, just enough so it holds. Then you stick the other end of the toothpick into that foamy cone. Start at the bottom, make a nice even row. Like you’re plantin’ corn, nice and straight.
- Get a foam cone.
- Wrap it in tissue paper.
- Get about 50 macarons.
- Grab a bunch of toothpicks.
- Stick the macarons on the cone with the toothpicks.
Keep goin’ around and around, higher and higher. Make sure you squish them macarons close together, so you don’t see that ugly foam cone peekin’ through. And don’t be stingy with them toothpicks, you need ‘em to hold them cookies in place. If one falls off, just stick it back on, ain’t nobody gonna notice.
Now, some folks, they like to get all fancy. They add ribbons and flowers and whatnots. If you wanna do that, go ahead. Tie a pretty ribbon around the bottom, stick some fake flowers in between the macarons. Makes it look all… you know… elegant. But honestly, I think it looks just fine with just the macarons. Simple and sweet, that’s my motto.
They call this here thing a “macaron tower”, but I just call it a pile of fancy cookies. And they say it’s like those tall French wedding cakes, whatchamacallit… crook-em-bush? Sounds like somethin’ you’d get from eatin’ too many beans, if you ask me. But hey, to each their own. You wanna call it a tower, you go right ahead.
So there you have it. A macaron tower, simple as can be. Don’t let them fancy folks fool you, it ain’t hard. Just takes a little time and patience. And a whole lotta toothpicks. Now go on and make yourself a tower. And don’t forget to take a picture and show it off. Even this old woman knows how to do that these days, with my grandson’s help of course. And if I can do it, you can too, I’m telling ya.
And one more thing, don’t you go eatin’ all them macarons before you finish the tower. I know they look tasty, but you gotta save some for the finished product. Otherwise, you’ll just have a half-eaten mess and a whole lotta toothpicks stickin’ out of a foamy cone. And nobody wants that, right? Right.
Now, go on and get to it. And have fun! It ain’t supposed to be stressful, it’s just cookies and toothpicks, after all. Don’t overthink it, just stick them macarons on that cone and call it a day. And if it ain’t perfect, who cares? It’ll still taste good. That’s what matters most, ain’t it?
