Well, let me tell you, this thing called the internet, it’s everywhere nowadays. My grandkids, they’re always on it. They say it shows you everything, even how much folks are using it. They call it a bar graph of internet usage. It is kinda like when you stack up them jars of preserves, see which one’s the tallest. Here’s what I figured out about this whole internet usage thing and them bar graphs that show it.

This internet thing, you can find it all over the place. Some places, they got more of it, like them fancy cities. They are using it all the time. Other places, not so much, like out here where I am. The bar graph, it shows that plain as day. The tallest bar means lots of folks using the internet. A short one, well, that means not so many. Now, this internet usage, it’s been going up and up, like a weed in springtime. More and more folks are getting it. They say it’s ’cause it helps with things, makes life easier. I don’t know about all that, but it sure keeps my grandkids busy. This bar graph they are talking about will keep changing. Every year, the bar will become taller and taller. That means people are using the internet more and more.

They got these things called “infographics.” Sounds fancy, but it’s just pictures that show you stuff. Like a picture of a pie, but each slice shows how many folks are using the internet for different things. Some use it for talking, some for buying, and some for them moving pictures, just like I mentioned before. This thing can also show the internet usage worldwide. I guess it is not just popular in my country.

They even got things called “animated videos.” It’s like them cartoons, but they show you how the internet usage is changing. Like, you might see a little bar for one place, and then it grows bigger and bigger as more folks start using the internet. It’s kinda like watching a plant grow, but faster. These videos are also about internet usage. They make it easier to understand.

I heard some folks, they call them “Nordics,” they use the internet the most. Their bars on the graph are the tallest, I reckon. Like they’re the biggest eaters at the county fair. They’re always connected, as they say. Must be nice, I guess. But I still like my peace and quiet sometimes. I do not need to know the internet usage in the United States or internet usage in Poland. That is none of my business.

And these young folks, they’re always on it, the internet usage is very high among them. They say it’s how they talk to their friends, do their schoolwork, and even find jobs. It’s a whole different world than when I was young. We just played outside and talked face-to-face. But times change, I suppose. Nowadays, kids know everything about bar graphs of internet usage. They can even make one.

They say this internet is important for “commerce.” That’s just a fancy word for buying and selling things. Folks can buy things from all over the world now, right from their homes. Don’t even need to go to the market. It’s all done on this internet thing, and it makes the internet usage rate higher. And “entertainment,” well, that’s them moving pictures and games my grandkids are always on about. But internet connectivity is also important. This is how people get internet access.

I even heard they use the internet for “search engine.” I don’t rightly know what that is, but my grandkids say you can ask it anything, and it’ll tell you. Like asking old Mrs. Henderson down the road about her prize-winning zucchini bread recipe, but faster. And they got something called “social media” too. It is one of the most popular reasons for internet usage. That’s where folks share pictures and talk about their day. Like a big gossip circle, but online.

So, this bar graph of internet usage, it’s just a way to see how much folks are using this internet thing. And it’s changing all the time, just like the weather. One day it’s sunny, the next it’s raining. One day the bars are short, the next they’re tall. But one thing’s for sure, this internet is here to stay, and more and more folks are using it every day. It’s a whole new world, this internet thing. Not sure I understand all of it, but it’s interesting to see how it’s changing things, even out here in the country. I still prefer a good book and a cup of tea, myself. But I guess you gotta keep up with the times, even if it means learning about bar graphs and internet usage and all that other stuff. The world is changing, so does the internet usage.
