Hey everyone, so today I wanted to talk about how I got Movie Box Pro working on my iPhone. It wasn’t super straightforward, but I figured it out, and now I’m watching all kinds of stuff. Here’s how it went down:
First, I heard about this Movie Box Pro app from a friend. He kept going on about how you can watch tons of movies and shows for free, so obviously, I was curious. I mean, who doesn’t love free movies? I started by doing some digging online to see what the deal was with this app.
I found out that it’s not on the regular App Store, which makes sense. You gotta get it from somewhere else. There were a few different websites talking about it, and some mentioned using something called AltStore. I had never heard about it before. I guess this is a tool that lets you install apps that aren’t officially approved by Apple.
Getting AltStore
So, I went to the AltStore website on my computer and downloaded it. They have versions for both Mac and Windows. I have a windows, so I just get the Windows version. Then I installed it by clicking next button mostly. It was a pretty standard installation, nothing too crazy.
Next, I connected my iPhone to my computer with a USB cable and followed the instructions to install AltStore onto my phone. I had to allow some permissions or something like that, no big deal. The trickiest part here was I needed an Apple ID. But I didn’t want to use my main one for this, so I just created a new throwaway Apple ID. I think this is a good idea in case Apple doesn’t like what you’re doing.
Getting Movie Box Pro
After I got AltStore on my phone, I found the Movie Box Pro file online, and then I used AltStore to sideload it onto my iPhone. Sideloading basically means installing it manually, not through the App Store. I had to enter the new Apple ID and password I created earlier.
Once it was installed, I had to go into my phone’s settings, and find the “trust” option for the app. I forgot where it exactly is, but you can find it in the system. You have to tell your phone that you trust the app developer, otherwise, it won’t open. It’s some kind of security thing.
Almost There!
After I did all that, I finally had Movie Box Pro on my phone! I opened it up, and it worked perfectly! I found it covered so many terminals including web, iOS, Apple TV, MacOS, Android, Android TV, Win10, which was so great. I was surprised by how many movies and TV shows were on there. Everything from new releases to old classics. And the quality is pretty good too. Also I found I can watch up to 8k picture quality movies in MovieBoxPro, this really surprised me.
One important thing: I read somewhere that you have to refresh the app in AltStore every seven days. If you don’t, it stops working. It’s a little annoying, but it only takes a minute, so it’s not a huge deal.
- Download and install AltStore on your computer.
- Connect your iPhone and install AltStore on it.
- Create a throwaway Apple ID (recommended).
- Find the Movie Box Pro file and sideload it using AltStore.
- Trust the app in your iPhone settings.
- Refresh the app in AltStore every seven days.
So yeah, that’s how I got Movie Box Pro working on my iPhone. It took a little bit of effort, but now I have access to tons of free movies and shows. Totally worth it in my opinion! Hope this helps anyone who’s trying to do the same thing!
