Okay, so, I was messing around with my computer the other day, trying to get this whole beige theme going on. You know, like those aesthetic setups you see online? I started with the napkins. Yeah, napkins. I found these handmade block-printed linen napkins online, and I thought, “Why not start with the table?”
Getting the Napkins
I ordered them, and when they arrived, they were pretty neat. I laid them out, trying to get that perfect Instagram-worthy look. It took a few tries, rearranging them this way and that, but it kinda worked. They added a nice touch, I guess.
Moving to the Computer
Then, I moved to the computer. I have a Windows laptop, and I wanted to see if I could match the beige vibe. First, I tried changing the wallpaper. That was easy enough. Found a nice, simple beige background online and set it as my desktop.
- Changed the wallpaper to a beige one.
The Windows
But then I thought, “What about the actual Windows?” You know, the borders, the taskbar, all that stuff. Turns out, it’s not as straightforward as just picking a color. I tried fiddling with the settings, looking for anything that mentioned “beige” or even just “custom colors.” Nothing.
Trying Different Things
I even tried different USB cables. The original one of my computer is in black. I’m wondering if the black ones have an impact on the theme, so I change them to a beige one. But there is still no difference at all.
- Tried changing USB cables.
I also tried connecting another laptop, another Windows one. But this time, it’s for debugging or something similar. But still, I can’t find any settings to change the colors.
- Connected another laptop for debugging.
Downgrading?
Someone online suggested downgrading from Windows 11 to Windows 10. Apparently, it’s easier to customize the older version. They said you could roll back within 10 days of installing Windows 11. I hadn’t done that, so I was stuck. Or so I thought.
- Considered downgrading the OS.
More Beige Stuff
While I was at it, I also got these beige linen placemats. They’re handmade, which is cool, and they have these embroidered bands on the sides. I thought they’d go well with the napkins. And I even found some lampshades that are block-printed cotton and kinda match the whole beige thing.
- Got beige linen placemats.
- Found matching lampshades.
Giving Up (For Now)
Anyway, I spent hours on this, and honestly, I didn’t get very far with the Windows themselves. I managed to change some colors here and there, but it’s not really the full beige look I was going for. It’s way more complicated than I thought it would be. But hey, at least my table looks kinda nice with the napkins and placemats. I might try again later, but for now, I’m calling it a day. Maybe I’ll just stick with the beige wallpaper and call it a win.
