Internet for Truckers: Work and Play on the Go! (Your Guide to Mobile Wi-Fi)

I was thinking about how to make a cool thing for truck drivers to use the internet. I had some ideas, so I started to do some experiments.

Setup

First, I took out my old laptop. It’s not super new, but it works fine. I connected it to my home Wi-Fi. This was to see if I could get internet on the laptop from far away.

Testing Distance

Then, I went outside with the laptop. I walked down the street to see how far I could go and still get internet. It worked for a bit, but then the signal got weak. Power Issues

Car Experiment

Next, I put the laptop in my car. I wanted to see if I could get internet while driving. I used my phone’s hotspot for the internet. It worked, but the internet was slow sometimes, especially when I drove far from the city.

Improving the Setup

To make the internet better, I bought a special antenna. It’s supposed to catch internet signals from far away. I connected it to the laptop and tried it in the car again. This time, the internet was faster and didn’t drop as much.

Final Thoughts

After all these tests, I think I’m on the right track. Truck drivers could use a setup like this to get internet on the road. It’s not perfect yet, but it’s a good start. I need to try it on a longer trip to see how well it really works. Maybe I’ll ask a truck driver friend to test it out.
