Okay, here is my blog about “Athens to Ios Ferry”:
Hey everyone, today I want to share my recent experience taking a ferry from Athens to Ios. It was quite an adventure, and I documented the whole process. So, let’s dive in!
First off, I had to figure out where to even start. I knew I wanted to get from Athens to Ios, but I had no idea how to go about it. After a bit of digging, I found out that there are ferries that run between these two places.
Next, I needed to find a way to book the tickets. I discovered Ferryscanner, which seemed like a pretty straightforward way to compare prices and book. That was one thing I learned early on: booking in advance is your best friend. Especially during those holiday times, it’s almost impossible to get a ticket on the spot. Plus, booking early saved me some serious cash, which is always a win.
Once I had my tickets, I had to get to the port. I found out that Piraeus is the main port in Athens for these ferries. I took some time to search the best way to get there. It was a bit confusing at first, but I managed to navigate the local transport and made it to the port without any problems. Then, I was faced with another question, how often do these ferries run? Turns out, there are a couple of sailings every week. And from what I gathered, three main companies operate this route, one of them is Blue Star Ferries. Good to know for future trips, I guess.
I heard some horror stories about ferries selling out, especially on popular routes. Luckily, the bigger ferries like the one I took from Blue Star Ferries rarely sell out. So, I wasn’t too worried about that.
The day of the trip finally arrived. I arrived at the port, found my ferry, and hopped on. The journey itself was quite interesting. I learned that the fastest ferry is with SeaJets, and it takes about 3 and a half hours. I mean, that’s pretty fast for getting from one place to another by sea. The trip was smooth, the weather was nice, and I even managed to get some good photos of the sea. Once we arrived in Ios, I was ready to start exploring.
So, that’s the gist of my ferry trip from Athens to Ios. I found the best way is to book in advance. Also, I used a website to compare prices and book my tickets. I made sure to figure out how to get to the port in Athens, and then I enjoyed the ride to Ios. If you’re planning a similar trip, I hope this helps you out! It’s not as complicated as it might seem, and it’s definitely an experience worth having.
