Okay, so, I got this Beelink Mini S12 Pro, right? A tiny little computer, and I thought, let’s see what this thing can do. I’ve heard some good things about it, so I was pretty stoked to try it out. I’m no computer expert, but I like to tinker, you know?
First things first, I unboxed it. It’s surprisingly small, fits in the palm of my hand. It came with the usual stuff – power adapter, HDMI cable, a bracket for mounting it, and some screws. Nothing fancy, just what you need to get started.
I hooked it up to my monitor, plugged in my keyboard and mouse, and powered it on. It booted up pretty fast, I gotta say. It’s running Windows 11 Pro, which is a nice touch. Most of these small PCs come with the Home edition, so having Pro is a plus. I like the extra features, you know, for security and stuff.
Once I got into Windows, I did the usual setup stuff – connected to my Wi-Fi, logged into my Microsoft account, the usual boring stuff. Then, I started poking around. I opened up a bunch of browser tabs, played some videos, you know, just to see how it handles everyday tasks. It was pretty smooth, no lag or anything.
- The first thing I did was install some games.
- I went ahead and installed some games to test it out.
- It is not a gaming PC but I still tested it for gaming.
- It can handle some casual games.
- Do not expect it to run AAA games.
I’ve heard people talk about how these mini PCs are pretty energy efficient. The MINI S12 I tried before was using about 8.2 watts when it was just sitting there, doing nothing, and about 22.5 watts when it was really working hard. The MINI S12 Pro, get this, actually uses even less power when it’s idle. I mean, that’s pretty cool, right? Saving on the electricity bill and all that.
Gaming Test
Now, I’m not a huge gamer, but I did try to play some games on it. I mean it is a computer after all. It’s not a gaming beast or anything, but it handled some older games okay. Don’t expect to play the latest and greatest AAA titles on this thing, but for some casual gaming, it’s alright. I did see some numbers online about some benchmark tests. Apparently, both the MINI S12 and the MINI S12 Pro scored over 300 points in this 3DMark Time Spy thing and over 900 in something called Fire Strike. The Pro version did a bit better, but honestly, I didn’t really notice a huge difference when I was playing.
All in all, I’m pretty happy with this little Beelink Mini S12 Pro. It’s a neat little machine that’s perfect for everyday stuff, and it can even handle some light gaming. Plus, it’s super quiet and doesn’t take up much space. If you’re looking for a compact and affordable PC, I’d say give this one a shot.
