Well, let me tell you somethin’ about them keyboard shortcuts in Internet Explorer. Now, I ain’t no computer whiz, but I’ve been around long enough to know a thing or two. If you use Internet Explorer a lot, you might as well get to know these shortcuts. They’ll save ya time, trust me. You don’t wanna be clicking around all day long when you can just press a few keys and get to where you need to go quicker.
First thing’s first, let’s talk about them shortcuts for navigation. Ya know, to go back or forward a page, instead of moving your mouse all over the place. If ya want to go back a page, all ya gotta do is hit the Alt + ← keys together. It’s like hittin’ the back button, but without usin’ your mouse. Pretty nifty, huh? Now, if ya want to go forward, instead of pressing that little arrow up there on the screen, just press Alt + →. Easy as pie!
Now, I’m sure you know what the Backspace key is, don’t ya? Well, in Internet Explorer, it’s the same thing as the Alt + ← shortcut. So if you press Backspace, it’ll take you back a page, just like that. Ain’t that somethin’!
Sometimes, you might wanna jump to a different webpage real quick. Well, here’s where Ctrl + L comes in handy. You press them two keys together, and boom, you’re in the address bar, ready to type in a new website. Real quick-like!
Another thing you might wanna know is how to refresh your page without clickin’ that little circle on the top of your screen. Well, it’s simple. Just press F5 or Ctrl + R, and the page will reload. If it’s taking too long to load, just refresh it, and off ya go again.
Now, let’s talk about the tabs. I don’t know about you, but I like to have a bunch of tabs open when I’m browsin’ the web. But sometimes, I can’t find the one I need right away. If ya want to switch between tabs, all you gotta do is press Ctrl + Tab to go forward, or Ctrl + Shift + Tab to go back. You’ll be flippin’ through them tabs faster than a rooster chasin’ a hen!
If you wanna close a tab real quick, don’t bother using your mouse to click that little “X.” Just press Ctrl + W, and that tab will be gone in a flash. If you accidentally close a tab you didn’t mean to, don’t worry. Just press Ctrl + Shift + T, and that tab will pop back up like it never left!
Let’s say you’re trying to search for somethin’ on the web. Instead of clickin’ into that search box, just press Ctrl + E, and it’ll put your cursor right in there. Makes searchin’ a whole lot easier, don’t ya think?
Now, I know some of you folks are still using Internet Explorer 11. Well, don’t you worry, I’ve got some shortcuts for you too. For example, if ya wanna add “www.” to the front of the address and “.com” to the end, just type in the name and press Ctrl + Enter. Saves you a lot of time typin’ all that out!
One more thing, if you ever forget what a shortcut does or you just need some help, just press F1. That’ll bring up the help menu, and you can get all the answers you need right then and there.
So, there you go! A whole bunch of shortcuts that’ll make usin’ Internet Explorer a lot easier. You don’t gotta click around like a chicken with its head cut off no more. Just press the right keys, and you’re on your way!
