Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with my OpenWrt router lately, trying to get around this “Internet Positif” thing. You know, the government blocking websites and all that jazz. It’s been a real pain, but I think I’ve finally cracked it. Let me walk you through what I did.
First off, I was looking into how OpenWrt handles traffic and zones, and stumbled upon this: an OpenWrt router’s firewall can collect interfaces into zones to filter traffic. I’m not a network guru, but I know there’s usually a “lan” zone and a “wan” zone. Made sense to me.
So, I fired up my router’s web interface. I went straight to System, then Startup, and there it was – the firewall. You can enable, disable, start, or restart it. I didn’t mess with it yet, I just made a note of it.
Next, I started thinking about how to actually bypass these blocks. I know some folks use 加速器s, but that seemed a bit overkill for me. Plus, there was talk of using DNSCrypt on each device, but I wasn’t thrilled about installing stuff on every single phone and laptop in my house.
After a ton of Googling, I found some really complex solutions, but also stumbled upon this pretty simple one, I thought I would try that first. I went back to the web interface and this time navigated to Network, then DHCP and DNS. And there, right in the DNS settings. That sounded simple enough.
- I opened up the OpenWrt web config, usually at 192.168.1.1
- Headed to Network, then DHCP and DNS
- Found the settings for DNS, and started filling them out.
I remembered someone saying that using a 加速器 or Tor could help hide your activity from your ISP. Sounded a bit too much for me, but I kept it in mind as a last resort.
After playing with the settings, things started working! I could finally access those blocked sites again. I’m no expert, but it felt pretty good to figure this out on my own. There might be better ways to do this, but for now, this is working great for me.
Oh, and a heads-up – someone mentioned something about “egress filtering” with DNS filtering, but honestly, that went way over my head. I’m just happy I can browse freely for now.
My Personal Tips
If you’re also fed up with these internet blocks, give this a shot. It’s not as hard as it sounds. Just poke around your router settings, and you might surprise yourself. And if you find a better way, let me know! We’re all in this together, right?
