Alright, let’s talk about this atx windows thing. I don’t know much about computers, ya know? But my grandson, he’s always fiddlin’ with them. So, I picked up a thing or two, kinda like how you learn to bake a cake just by watchin’ your grandma.
First off, what’s this “atx” thing? Sounds like some kinda fancy car part, but my grandson says it’s somethin’ to do with them computer boxes. He says there are different sizes, like big ones and small ones. ATX is like the big daddy, he says. Then there’s those “micro-atx” ones, smaller, like for when you don’t need all that extra stuff. And even smaller ones, like “mini-itx”. Too small, if you ask me. How you gonna fit all the important stuff in there?
Now, about them windows… Not the ones you look out of! These are the things on the screen, I guess. My grandson says they let you do stuff on the computer. Like lookin’ at pictures of them grandkids, or writin’ letters, or even playin’ games. He’s always yellin’ at that screen, so I guess them games are pretty excitin’.
But here’s the thing, you gotta have somethin’ to put all this stuff together. That’s where this “motherboard” thing comes in. Sounds important, huh? Like the mama of the whole computer! My grandson says it’s the thing that connects everything. You gotta pick the right one, he says. It’s gotta be the right size for that “atx” thing, and it’s gotta have enough spots for all the other stuff you wanna stick in there. Like the thing that makes the pictures look good, or the thing that makes the sound loud.
- First, you gotta figure out how big you want your computer box to be. That decides if you need a big atx, a little micro-atx, or that tiny mini-itx.
- Then, you gotta find a motherboard that fits in that box and has enough room for everything.
- And don’t forget about all them other parts! They gotta fit too! It’s like puttin’ together a puzzle, I tell ya.
Buildin’ a computer sounds mighty complicated to me. Like tryin’ to fix a tractor engine without no tools. My grandson says there are lots of videos and stuff that show you how to do it, but I ain’t got time for that. I got gardens to tend and chickens to feed. But if you young folks are into that kinda thing, more power to ya. Just make sure you don’t blow nothin’ up!
And what about the cost? Lord, everything costs money these days. My grandson says you can build one of these computer things for a thousand bucks, but that don’t even include the screen or the keyboard or that mouse thing. Sounds like a lot of money to me. You could buy a whole lotta groceries with that kind of cash. Or maybe a new pair of work boots. But then again, he says you can spend five thousand dollars or even more to get a really fancy one that can play all them fancy games real good.
So, there ya have it. My two cents on this atx windows thing. It’s all about sizes and parts and puttin’ things together. And spendin’ money, of course. Just like everything else in life, I guess. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on them tomatoes before the squirrels get to ‘em.
Choosing the right motherboard is real important, like picking the right soil for your tomatoes. You want somethin’ that’s gonna last and do what it’s supposed to do. And don’t get fooled by all them fancy words and numbers. Just figure out what you need and go from there. That’s what I always say.
And remember, building a computer ain’t for the faint of heart. It’s like buildin’ a house, gotta have a plan and the right tools. But if you put your mind to it, you can do anything. Even this old lady knows that much.
