Alright, let’s talk about this Pelican Rapids internet thing, you know? It ain’t like pickin’ corn, that’s for sure. Too many choices, too much talkin’ fancy. I’m gonna try and make sense of it all, the way I see it.
First off, they got all these different companies, like Arvig, and that Viasat, and somethin’ called T-Mobile Home. Sounds like a bunch of city folk talkin’ if you ask me. Arvig and that Better Wireless, they say they got the fastest internet, somethin’ about a thousand somethin’ or other. Mbps, they call it. Don’t know what that means, but sounds fast, I guess. Like a rooster chasin’ a hen.
- Arvig: They say they’re fast, real fast. Up to 1000 Mbps. But I heard tell it ain’t cheap.
- Viasat: These folks, they use a dish, like for TV, but for internet. They say it’s available most of the time, 99.9% they say. Prices start at 64.99, whatever that means. Sounds like a lot of money to me.
- A Better Wireless: Another fast one, same as Arvig they say. But is it really better? Who knows.
- T-Mobile Home: Now, this one, I don’t know much about. Sounds like they use phones, or somethin’. Always talkin’ on them phones, these young folks.
Then they got this fiber internet. They say it’s in Pelican Rapids, covers about 74.74% of the place. Don’t know what that means exactly, but sounds like most folks can get it if they want it. But what is it? Like a string, I guess, but for the internet. They sure do make things complicated these days.
Now, how do you choose? That’s the real question, ain’t it? They say you gotta think about how fast you need it, and how much you wanna spend. Well, I don’t need nothin’ fancy, just enough to see what my grandkids are up to on them Facebooks and such. And I ain’t got money to throw around like them city folk, that’s for sure.
They also talk about connection types. Fiber, cable, satellite, wireless. Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me. Fiber’s that string thing, cable’s like the TV, satellite’s the dish, and wireless is… well, I guess it means no strings attached, like a good man. But which one’s best? Depends on what you need, they say. And what you can afford, I say.
Some folks say you should compare prices. Well, that’s just common sense, ain’t it? You don’t buy the first hen you see at the market, you look around, see what’s the best deal. Same with this internet stuff, I reckon. But it ain’t easy, all them different plans and prices, makes my head spin.
Then there’s this talk about availability. Means if you can even get it where you live. Some of these companies, they don’t cover everywhere, you see. So you gotta find one that’ll work for you, in your neck of the woods. Pelican Rapids has a couple of providers, they say, but which one’s the best? It’s like trying to pick the best apple from a whole barrel, gotta look close and see what’s what.
And don’t forget about fees. They don’t always tell you about them upfront, sneaky like a fox in the henhouse. Installation fees, equipment fees, late fees… all them fees add up, you know? So you gotta be careful, read the fine print, if you can even see it. These young folks with their fancy glasses, they don’t understand what it’s like to get old and your eyes don’t work so good anymore.
So, what’s the best internet in Pelican Rapids? I don’t rightly know. It depends on what you need and what you can afford. If you need somethin’ fast and don’t mind payin’ for it, Arvig or that Better Wireless might be the ticket. If you’re out in the sticks, Viasat might be your only choice. And if you just want somethin’ simple and cheap, well, you gotta shop around, compare them prices, see what fits your pocketbook. Just make sure it gets you on them Face books to see them grandbabies, that’s all I’m sayin’.
Just remember, don’t let them city folk talk you into somethin’ you don’t need. And don’t be afraid to ask questions. Even if you feel like a fool, better to ask than to get stuck with somethin’ you can’t afford or don’t even know how to use. That’s my two cents, anyway. Now, where did I put my glasses?
