Alright, so you wanna know ’bout this internet stuff in Edgewater, New Jersey, huh? Lemme tell ya, it’s a whole lotta things to think about, but I’ll make it plain as day for ya.
First off, what kinda internet you need? You just checkin’ emails and lookin’ at pictures of the grandkids? Or you one of them youngsters streamin’ movies and playin’ them video games all day long? Makes a big difference, ya know.
Now, they got all sorts of fancy names for this stuff. “Fiber,” they call it. Sounds like somethin’ you eat, but it ain’t. It’s supposed to be the fastest, they say. Companies like Verizon Fios and Brightspeed, they got that fiber stuff. If you’re a big movie watcher or a gamer, that’s probably what you want. They say it’s super speedy, like a rocket ship or somethin’. And it’s available to most folks in Edgewater, like, 85 percent or so, they tell me.
- Fiber: Fastest one, good for movies and games. Verizon Fios and Brightspeed got it.
- Cable: Pretty good too, works through your TV lines. Xfinity and Optimum got this one.
- 5G and DSL: Not as fast, but might be cheaper. ATT does that 5G thing. Others got DSL, but it ain’t the best, I tell ya.
Then there’s this “cable” internet. That’s what Xfinity and Optimum do. It goes through the same wires as your TV, I guess. It’s pretty good too, not as fancy as fiber, but gets the job done for most folks. Reliable, they say. Means it works most of the time, which is more than I can say for some things around here!
And then there’s this 5G stuff, from ATT. And some other folks got somethin’ called DSL. It’s cheaper, but it ain’t as fast. If you’re just lookin’ at the news and sendin’ emails, it might be alright. But don’t go tryin’ to watch no movies on it, you’ll be waitin’ all day.
Now, how do you pick the best one? Well, that’s the tricky part, ain’t it? Everybody says theirs is the best. Spectrum, they’re pretty big around here. Lots of folks got ’em. They say no data caps, which sounds good to me. Don’t want nobody tellin’ me how much internet I can use.
Then there’s Verizon. They got that fast fiber, like I said. But you gotta see if it’s in your neighborhood. Not everybody can get it, even though most can.
There’s a bunch of others too, like Natural Wireless, Honest Networks, Bway, Frontier, Starry, and Astound. Too many names if you ask me! Makes my head spin. And EarthLink, they say they got internet here too. So many choices, how’s a body supposed to know?
Best thing to do is compare, I guess. See what they charge, see how fast it is. And don’t forget to ask your neighbors what they got. They’ll tell you the truth, most of ‘em anyway. They’ll tell ya if it’s fast, if it breaks down all the time, and if the company is good to deal with. That’s important, ya know. Don’t wanna be stuck with some company that don’t answer the phone when you got a problem.
So, what’s the fastest? Well, they say that fiber from Verizon or Brightspeed is the fastest. But it all depends on where you live and what you wanna do with it. If you want the fastest, and it’s available to ya, go for the fiber. If you just need somethin’ reliable for everyday stuff, cable’s probably good enough. And if you’re on a tight budget, maybe that 5G or DSL is the way to go. Just don’t expect it to be lightning fast.
And don’t forget to look for deals! They always got some kinda special goin’ on. Try to get a good price, ya know. Internet ain’t cheap these days.
Anyways, that’s about all I know about this internet stuff. Hope it helps ya out. Just remember, do your homework, compare prices, and ask around. You’ll figure it out. It ain’t rocket science, even if that fiber stuff is supposed to be as fast as a rocket.
