You know, this here 34736 area, that’s Groveland, FL, they got all sorts of these newfangled internet providers now. Back in my day, we didn’t have none of that! We had to use our mouths to talk to people, not some magic box! But I hear tell these internet things are pretty fast these days, helps folks get things done quicker.
My grandbaby, she told me all about it. Says there’s this thing called Quantum Fiber, and it’s faster than a greased piglet at the county fair! Says it can go up to 8 Gbps, which is 8000 Mbps, whatever that means. Sounds like a whole heap of speed to me! I don’t know what you’d need all that speed for, but the young folks seem to like it. They use it for their games and whatnot. Good for them, I reckon.
Then there’s another one called Spectrum. She says this one’s pretty good too. Goes up to 1000 Mbps. Still sounds mighty fast to me. Probably faster than my old mule, Bessie, ever went, even when she was feeling spry. Spectrum seems to be everywhere around here, like weeds in a garden. I hear a lot of people have it cause it’s easy to get.
- Quantum Fiber – Super duper fast, like 8 Gbps!
- Spectrum – Still pretty darn fast, up to 1000 Mbps.
- T-Mobile Home Internet – I hear it is fast too, 245 Mbps.
- Starlink – Fast. 220 Mbps or something, they say.
And then there’s this other one called T-Mobile Home Internet. They say it goes up to 245 Mbps. Not as fast as them other two, but still probably faster than I can shuck corn these days. I don’t know much about this T-Mobile thing, but it sure is a funny name. They say it’s pretty good, so that’s somethin’.
Now, there’s also somethin’ called Starlink. My neighbor, Mildred, she got that one. Said some fella came and put a dish on her roof, said it talks to the stars or some such nonsense. She says it goes up to 220 Mbps. She uses it to watch her shows. She likes it, I guess. These new ways are strange, but I suppose they’re alright.
Seems like this Spectrum is the one most folks got ’round here, though. They say it starts at $49.99 a month for 200 Mbps. That’s a lot of money, seems to me. But I guess folks are willing to pay for it. They say you need that internet for everything these days. Back in my day, all we needed was a good pair of shoes and a strong back.
I heard one fella say that EarthLink Fiber is the fastest one in the whole darn town. That’s somethin’ ain’t it? They say it’s in Groveland, FL. I don’t know where that EarthLink came from, but it must be real fast!
There are other ones like Xfinity too. They say it is fast in Groveland too. My friend’s grandson has it. 1.2 Gbps. I do not know what that means but it sounds fast. He uses it for his school. He says it is good.
And, I also hear about Verizon 5G Home. They say it is fast too. Up to 1 Gbps. What is 5G? I don’t know. But if it is fast, that’s all that matters right? They say it is wireless, no wires. Funny. I guess that is good too.
Now, if you’re looking for the best internet provider in this 34736 zip code, which is Groveland, you gotta do your research, I reckon. Ask your neighbors, see what they got. They’ll tell ya straight. Folks ’round here are honest, mostly. Just like me, I always tell it like it is, no sugarcoating. Just find out what internet speed you need. My grandbaby told me there is a quiz you can take.
These internet things, they’re a mystery to me. But the world’s changin’, and I guess we gotta change with it. Even us old folks. Just remember, though, no matter how fast your internet is, it ain’t gonna make the sun rise any faster or the crops grow any quicker. Some things just take time. And that’s okay. We all need to slow down sometimes and smell the roses, internet or no internet.
Well, that’s all I know about these internet providers in 34736. Hope it helps you some. Just remember to be kind to your neighbors, and don’t believe everything you hear on that internet contraption. Some of it’s just a bunch of hooey, if you ask me. Now, go on and get yourself some internet if you need it. And don’t forget to call your grandma sometime, even if she don’t have one of them internet things! You can use the good old telephone for that!
