Forscan Android: The best OBD2 app for your car?

This here FORScan for Android, it’s a thing, you see. My grandson, he’s always on his phone, told me about it. Said it’s for them cars, to see what’s wrong with ’em. Like a doctor for cars, only you gotta have a phone or one of them tablet things.

Now, I don’t know much about these newfangled things. My old truck, bless her heart, she just needs a good kick sometimes. But these young folks, they like this FORScan Android thing. They say it tells you all sorts of stuff. Like if the engine’s coughing or the wheels are feeling poorly. This FORScan, it is somethin’, I reckon.

They say you gotta have this other thingamajig, OBD2 something or other. You plug it into your car, under the steering wheel, I think they said. Then this FORScan app, it talks to that thing, and it tells you what the car is saying. Like a secret language, only the phone can understand it. It is all magic, if you ask me.

• First, you gotta get the app. It’s called FORScan Lite for Android.
• Then, that OBD2 thingy, you gotta plug it in.
• Then, your phone, it talks to the car through that thingy.
• And then, you see all the stuff on your phone.

They say there’s this EX thingy, that’s the best one. Makes it all fast and good. Like when I make my biscuits, gotta use the good lard, or they ain’t no good. Same with this, gotta use the good thingy, this EX one, or it don’t work right. The FORScan team, whoever they is, they say to use the EX one. It is fast, and it don’t mess up.

Now, there’s other apps too, I hear. One’s called Car Scanner, I think. Sounds like a fancy name for somethin’ that just looks at cars. Another one is OBD this and OBD that. All sound the same to me. There is also one called Auto Doctor, sounds like that one knows what it is doin’. This FORScan, though, seems to be the one everyone talks about.

This other one, BlueDriver, sounds like a fancy thing. They say the app is easy, like shelling peas on the porch. Everything’s right there, they say. “Read Clear Codes,” “Freeze Frame,” “Smog Check.” Don’t know what half that means, but it sounds important. If it is easy, that is good, makes it simple, like me.

Then there is FIXD. That is for them iPhones. I don’t have one of them, but they say it works the same. You plug somethin’ in, and it tells you stuff about your car. There is a lot of these things, all about the same. FORScan, FIXD, all of ’em.

Another one is Torque Pro. It is for Android. You know, them green robot phones. That is what my grandson has. He says it is a good one. Scans this and that. I don’t know what that is, but it sounds like it is doin’ a lot. It is the best one for Android, he says. My grandson, he is a smart one, he knows about these things. He is the one that told me about this FORScan Android. He said it is real good.

This FORScan Android, it can see all the codes, they say. Codes are like secret messages from the car. Tells you if something’s broken or needs fixing. Like when my old dog used to whine, I knew he needed something. Same with cars, they whine with these codes, and this FORScan, it tells you what they need. These codes, they are important, I guess. They tell you what is wrong.

You can even clear the codes, they say. Like wiping the slate clean. But I don’t know about that. Seems like you’d wanna know what was wrong in the first place. Maybe it is like when you sweep the floor, you gotta know where the dirt is before you sweep it. I don’t know, it is all confusin’. This FORScan does it all, though.

They got all these settings in this FORScan too. Like fiddling with the knobs on the radio. Gotta get it just right, or you just get static. Same with this, gotta get the settings right, or it won’t work right. You gotta go into the FORScan settings, and mess with things. It is all in the app.

I reckon it’s a good thing, this FORScan for Android. Helps folks figure out what’s wrong with their cars without having to go to the mechanic all the time. Saves money, I suppose. But it’s all a bit much for me. I’ll stick to my old truck and my trusty wrench. But for those young folks, this FORScan, it’s the cat’s meow, I guess.

This FORScan, it is a good thing, I think. Even though I don’t understand it all. It is like the weather, always changin’. But it is good to know about it, I suppose. You never know when you might need it. Like a good pair of boots, you don’t always need ’em, but when you do, you are glad you got ’em. This FORScan is like that, a good thing to have, just in case.
