Okay, so, let me tell you about this little experiment I did with my website, Habazar. I was trying to figure out how to get more people to find my site through Google, you know, the whole search engine optimization thing. It’s a jungle out there, and I wanted to see if I could actually make a dent in it.
First, I started by just looking at what people are actually searching for related to internet marketing. I figured if I could understand what folks are typing into Google, I could tailor my content to match. I used Google’s free tools and some other stuff. You can find anything in these tools.
Then I dug into this massive keyword database I found online. I wanted to see which keywords were popular but not too competitive. It’s like, you want to find that sweet spot where people are searching for something, but not a million other sites are already covering it. I found tons of keywords that I can use. I wrote down and saved them on my computer.
After that, I started revamping some of my old blog posts. I sprinkled in these keywords I found, but not in a spammy way, you know? More like, I tried to naturally weave them into the content so it still flowed well and made sense. It was kind of a balancing act.
- I added some new headings.
- I rewrote some paragraphs to make them more relevant to the keywords.
- I made sure my images had proper alt text.
I also started writing some new content specifically targeting some of these keywords. For example, I wrote a whole guide on how to do keyword research, step-by-step, because I saw that a lot of people were searching for that, but there wasn’t a ton of really good, comprehensive information out there. I’ll do more and more new content.
And then, I waited. SEO is a long game, you know? It’s not like you can just flip a switch and suddenly you’re on the first page of Google. It takes time for Google to crawl your site, index your changes, and start ranking you differently. But I started to see some movement after a few weeks. A few of my pages started ranking higher for certain keywords, and I started getting a bit more organic traffic. It wasn’t a huge jump, but it was definitely noticeable.
My Results
So, is my website suddenly the king of Google now? Nope. But I definitely learned a lot through this process, and I’m seeing some positive results. I’ll keep tweaking things, tracking my progress, and seeing what works and what doesn’t. It’s an ongoing process, but it’s definitely worth the effort if you want to get your website out there.
If you are interested in the Google search optimization, try it yourself! I think you will get a different result.
