That damn uconnect 5 and ios 17, always giving me a headache! Ever since that ios 17 update, my phone and that truck screen, they just don’t talk nice no more. It’s like they’re having a big old fight all the time. The whole thing’s gone haywire, I tell ya. uconnect 5 ios 17 issues, that’s what I type into that google thing. Maybe someone else has the same problem.
Sometimes, I can get that CarPlay thing to work, you know? Either with that wire or even without it. But then, bam! It starts acting up again. The music, it starts and stops, starts and stops. Like a flickering lightbulb, driving me nuts! It’s like the phone is playing hide and seek. Can’t keep a steady connection. I tried everything, believe me!
And that’s not all, folks. Most of the time, that CarPlay, it just won’t even show up. Like it’s gone missing. ios 17 uconnect 5 problems, that’s another thing I look up. I see other folks complaining, too. So I ain’t the only one with this headache. I plug that phone in, I unplug it, I plug it back in again. The phone, it shows it’s charging, but that car screen, it just stays blank. Like it’s giving me the silent treatment. Stubborn thing!
Someone online, they said something about a 26.17 update. Said it helped their Durango. Said it took an hour. I don’t know about all that. Sounds complicated. I just want the thing to work like it used to. Used to be, I’d plug it in, and boom, music! Now, it’s just a whole lot of nothing.
Could be the phone. I suppose. Maybe that uconnect 5 just don’t like this new Apple update. Or maybe that Apple update, it don’t like the truck. Like two old folks who just can’t get along. They are always arguing. I tried other Bluetooth things, and the phone works fine. So it has to be uconnect 5 software issue. My phone’s smart, I know it is.
Folks are saying all sorts of things online. They say to check the Wi-Fi. Make sure the Wi-Fi is on, they say. Well, of course, the Wi-Fi is on! I ain’t that dumb. Then they say to tap on the CarPlay network. And make sure “Auto-Join” is on. What in the Sam Hill is “Auto-Join”? Sounds like something out of a space movie. Still, I did all that. Didn’t help one bit.
Some other fella, he said to turn off the car. Turn off the uconnect system, whatever that is. Then restart the phone. Tried that, too. No dice. Then he said to remove the device from the uconnect, and forget the car from the CarPlay settings. And Bluetooth settings. And then start all over. Like I’m setting up a whole new contraption. It’s like building a whole new barn, just to milk one cow!
I tell ya, these newfangled things, they’re more trouble than they’re worth. Back in my day, we didn’t have all these fancy gadgets. We had a radio, and it worked just fine. Didn’t need no updates or settings or none of that. uconnect 5 not working with ios 17, that’s the truth. It’s a real pain in the neck.
- First, you gotta make sure that stereo thing is on Bluetooth.
- Then, on your phone, you gotta go to that Settings place.
- Then Wi-Fi, make sure that’s turned on, too.
- Then you tap that CarPlay thing.
- Make sure that Auto-Join is on. Whatever that means.
And if that CarPlay thing ain’t showing up on your phone, then you gotta check something else. They say to go to Settings. Then Screen Time. Then Content & Privacy Restrictions. It’s a real mouthful, I tell ya. If that Content & Privacy thing is on, then you gotta tap Allowed Apps. And make sure CarPlay is turned on. Then you go back to Settings. Then General. Then CarPlay. Then you tap your car. It’s enough to make your head spin!
Honestly, all these steps, it’s like trying to herd cats. You think you got one, then another one runs off. It’s just too much for an old gal like me. I just want to listen to my tunes while I’m driving. Is that too much to ask? I hope someone figures out this uconnect 5 and ios 17 issue soon. It’s making me crazy! These young folks with their fancy phones and cars, they probably know what to do. Maybe I need to ask my grandson to fix it. He is always on his phone.
