Okay, so today I want to talk about deleting screenshots on my Mac. It’s something that I’ve been struggling with, and I finally figured it out, so I’m here to share my process.
First off, I opened the Screenshot app. To do that I pressed Shift-Command-5. I could also use Launchpad, but I found the shortcut to be quicker. Once I saw the Screenshot tools, I knew I was in the right place.
Next, I selected the tool that lets you choose what to capture. In my case, I wanted to get rid of some old screenshots I no longer needed. I tried to click and drag to select multiple screenshots at once.
- I found the screenshots I wanted to delete in the Finder. They were mostly on my desktop and in my Downloads folder.
- Once I located the screenshots, I selected them all. You can click and drag to select multiple files, or you can hold down the Command key and click on each one individually.
- After selecting the screenshots, I had a few options:
- I could right-click on one of the selected screenshots and choose Move to Trash.
- Or, I could simply drag the selected screenshots to the Trash icon in the Dock.
I used the keyboard shortcut. I pressed Command-Delete. This moved the selected screenshots straight to the Trash. So easy!
Finally, to permanently delete the screenshots, I needed to empty the Trash. You can do this by right-clicking the Trash icon and selecting Empty Trash. Or, you can open the Trash, click on Finder in the menu bar, and select Empty Trash. Once I did that, those screenshots were gone for good!
And that’s it! That’s how I managed to delete screenshots on my Mac. It took a bit of trial and error, but I’m glad I finally figured it out. Hopefully, my little guide here can help some of you out there who might be struggling with the same thing.
