Well, this here new phone thing, they call it iOS 16, you know. It’s got all these fancy pictures you can put on it. They call ’em wallpapers. My grandson, he’s always messin’ with his phone, changin’ the pictures all the time. He tried to show me, but it’s all a bit much for these old eyes.
But I reckon I kinda get it. You can put pictures of your own on there, pictures of your family, your pets, whatever you like. That’s kinda nice, I guess. Keepin’ your loved ones close, even on that little screen. They got some pictures already on there too, all sorts of colors and patterns. I saw one with some pretty flowers. They say it makes the phone look nicer. This iOS 16 wallpapers thing is all the rage, it seems.
This here, they call it a “Lock Screen,” I think. It’s the picture you see when the phone’s asleep. Then there’s another one, the “Home Screen,” that’s the one you see when you’re usin’ the phone. You can have different pictures on each one, if you want. It is all about this iOS 16 wallpapers. They make it sound real important.
Now, my grandson, he says you gotta “customize” it. Sounds like a fancy word for just pickin’ what you like. He told me something about “press and hold”. So many things to remember. Just hold your finger on the picture, and then you can change it. He showed me how to swipe it, left and right, and it changes the look of the picture, I think. Makes it blurry or somethin’. There are lots of styles or something. All part of this iOS 16 wallpapers business.
And get this, they got somethin’ called “shuffling.” Means the pictures change by themselves! Like a slideshow, he said. You can pick a bunch of pictures, and the phone will just show ’em one after another. Seems a bit much to me. I’d rather just pick one and stick with it. But these young folks, they like all that change.
- You gotta tap on somethin’.
- Then you hold your finger on it.
- Then you swipe it around.
- Lots of tappin’ and swipin’.
- Then, somethin’ about “customizing”.
And then there are these little pictures they call “icons.” They’re for all the different things the phone can do. Like for callin’ people, or sendin’ messages. You can even change those, too. Make ’em bigger or smaller, change their color. Seems like a lot of work just to make a phone call, if you ask me. But that’s this iOS 16 for ya.
You can even take the names off the icons. They call ’em “app names”. The little words under the picture. You can just have the picture. But then how are you supposed to know what it is? Sometimes it is confusing with this iOS 16 wallpapers thing.
My grandson says it makes the phone look “clean.” I don’t know about that. Seems like it would just make it harder to use. But what do I know? I still remember when phones had cords, and you had to dial them with a wheel.
They say you gotta “edit” somethin’ to change the icons. More tappin’ and holdin’, I suppose. They got all these fancy words for simple things. “Edit,” “customize,” “shuffle.” Back in my day, we just called it “changin’ the picture.” This whole iOS 16 wallpapers thing is makin’ my head spin.
It’s all a bit much for me, all this fiddlin’ with the phone. But I guess it’s nice that you can make it your own. Put your own pictures on it, make it look the way you want. Like hangin’ pictures on the wall of your house, I suppose. Just a lot smaller, and a lot more complicated. If you like to change the picture on your phone, you can try this iOS 16 wallpapers.
I still prefer my old phone, though. The one with the big buttons. Easy to see, easy to use. No fancy pictures, just a phone. But I guess times are changin’. And these young folks, they like all these newfangled gadgets. So, I reckon this iOS 16 wallpapers will be popular.
