Well, let me tell ya ’bout this here iOS 17.0.2 thingy, the 21A351 one. It’s like this, them Apple folks, they keep fiddlin’ with their iPhones and such. Always changin’ things up, ya know?
So, this 17.0.2, they say it came out on September 26th, 2023. That’s what them city folks write on their computin’ machines. But before that, there was another one, 21A350 they call it, on September 21st, only for them fancy new iPhone 15s. Imagine that, a phone just for rich folks first! Don’t make no sense to me.
Now, what’s the difference? I ain’t got no clue. They say it’s the same stuff, just a different number. Like sellin’ the same eggs but changin’ the price tag, if ya ask me. Them smarty pants talk about “build numbers” and “RTM builds.” Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me. They just like makin’ things sound complicated so we simple folk can’t understand.
They say this iOS 17 thingy, it changes your phone. You know, the way you call folks, and the way you send them picture messages. My grandbaby, she’s always fiddlin’ with her phone, takin’ pictures of her food and whatnot. Maybe this new thingy will make her pictures prettier, I don’t know. They also got somethin’ called StandBy, somethin’ you see when you’re chargin’ the phone sideways. Sounds like a waste of good electricity to me.
- First, they released iOS 17 around September 18th.
- Then came the iPhone 15 with a special version, 21A350.
- And finally, on September 26th, everyone got 21A351.
To get this new stuff on your phone, they say you gotta go to Settings, then General, then Software Update. Sounds like a lot of work if you ask me. Why can’t they just make it simple? I swear, these young folks and their gadgets! Back in my day, we just talked to each other face-to-face. Now, they’re always starin’ at them little screens. It’s a wonder anyone gets any work done anymore!
They talk about security updates and bug fixes. Bugs? Like the kind that eat your tomatoes? I don’t get it. I guess it means there were problems and they fixed ’em. But who knows if they didn’t make new ones while they were at it? It’s a never-ending cycle, I tell ya.
So, if you got one of them fancy iPhones, you might want to update it. Or maybe not. I reckon it ain’t gonna make much difference to an old woman like me. I still use my phone mostly to call my kids and make sure they ain’t gettin’ into trouble. And sometimes, I look at pictures of my grandbabies. That’s all I need.
This whole thing reminds me of that time they “improved” the road by my house. Took ’em twice as long and made it twice as bumpy. Sometimes, “progress” ain’t all it’s cracked up to be. But what do I know? I’m just an old woman who likes things simple. Give me a good cup of coffee and a phone that makes calls, and I’m happy. All this other stuff, it’s just noise to me.
Anyways, that’s what I know about this iOS 17.0.2 21A351 thingamajig. Not much, I admit, but more than I ever wanted to know. Now if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper.
