Man, I was thinking about getting a new toy the other day, you know, one of those fancy Macs. I was stuck between the MAC 10 and the MAC 11, couldn’t really make up my mind. They both looked kinda cool, but I wasn’t sure which one was right for me.
So, I started digging around, reading up on these things. Turns out, there’s a whole bunch of differences between them! First off, the size. The MAC 10 is the bigger one, feels more hefty in your hand. The MAC 11, on the other hand, is smaller, slimmer, a bit more discreet I guess.
Then there’s the whole caliber thing. I found out the MAC 10 was originally made for the .45 ACP, which is a pretty powerful round. They also made one for the 9mm, which is also powerful. The MAC 11 was designed for the 9mm from the start. Then, there is MAC-11A1 which was built for the .380ACP. It’s really confusing.
I did some more reading, and one guy even said these things were “only fit for combat in a phone booth” because they’re not very accurate! I thought, man, that’s kind of a funny way to put it, but I guess that means they’re better for close-up situations, not really for long-range stuff.
I started watching some videos online, people comparing the MAC 10 with the Uzi. Now, the Uzi is another beast altogether, but it was interesting to see the differences. The Uzi fires pretty fast, about 600 rounds per minute. But the MAC 10? That thing goes crazy fast! It was said that it can shoot about 1,250 rounds per minute with 9mm rounds. Can you believe that?
From what I gathered, the MAC 11 was used by some folks in the 70s, but it’s not as common as the MAC 10. So I thought, maybe the MAC 10 is the more popular choice?
After all this research, I was still a bit torn. But, you know what? I decided to go with the MAC 10. It just felt right. It’s a bit bigger, but I like that. And yeah, it might not be the most accurate thing in the world, but I’m not planning on doing any target shooting competitions or anything.
So, I pulled the trigger, so to speak, and bought the MAC 10. And you know what? No regrets. It’s a fun little machine, and I’m glad I went with my gut on this one.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure with the MAC 10 and MAC 11. Just thought I’d share my experience in case anyone else is trying to decide between these two.
