Okay, so I’ve been having this problem with Wizard101 on my Mac lately, and it’s been driving me nuts. I figured I’d share my experience and what I did to fix it, hoping it might help someone else out there.
So, it all started after I updated my Mac. I’m not sure if anyone else experienced this, but after the update, the game just wouldn’t load. It was like it was stuck or something. I tried opening it multiple times, but nothing happened. It just wouldn’t start. I even tried force quitting, but the same issue.
First, I did some digging around online. I saw some posts about a “32-bit error” that a lot of macOS users were running into after updating. Apparently, this was a common issue. I am not sure if that is what I was encountering, but it sounded familiar.
I also noticed that the official Wizard101 website had some updates about maintenance and support, but nothing that directly addressed my problem. There was some stuff about macOS Big Sur, but I wasn’t sure if that applied to me.
Then, I stumbled upon a suggestion to completely uninstall the game and remove all associated files. I figured, “What do I have to lose?” So, I went ahead and uninstalled Wizard101, making sure to get rid of every trace of it on my computer. It took a bit of searching, but I found all the folders and files related to the game and deleted them. I even emptied the trash, just to be extra sure.
Next, I found a link to reinstall the game specifically for Mac users. It was on the official Wizard101 website, but you had to dig for it a little. Anyway, I downloaded the installer and went through the reinstallation process.
After the reinstallation was complete, I tried launching the game again, and guess what? It worked! I was so relieved. The game started up like normal, and I could finally play again.
I’m not sure if this will work for everyone, but it definitely worked for me. I guess the combination of updating my Mac and some weird incompatibility with the game files was causing the issue. By completely uninstalling and reinstalling, I essentially gave it a fresh start.
Oh, and one more thing I noticed was that some people were talking about issues with the game window not being in the right position. They said the basic fix was to move the window back to the top left of the screen. I didn’t have that problem, but it might be something to try if you’re having other display issues.
Anyway, that’s my story. It was a frustrating experience, but I’m glad I was able to figure it out. Hopefully, this will be helpful to other Mac users who are struggling to get Wizard101 to work after updating their systems. Don’t give up, there might be a solution out there for you too!
