Hey there, you little devils! You wanna know about this Linux and Office 365 thing, huh? Old me don’t know much about these computer things, but I heard some folks talking ’bout it down at the market. Sounds complicated, but I’ll tell ya what I heard.
So, this Linux thing, it’s like the guts of a computer, I reckon. Like the engine in your old pickup truck. Makes the whole thing run. And this Office 365, well, that’s like those fancy tools you use, like a hammer and saw, but for writin’ letters and such on the computer. Now, folks say you can get them workin’ together, even though they’re kinda different.
I heard some young whippersnapper sayin’ somethin’ ’bout “monitoring tool“. Sounds like keepin’ an eye on your chickens to make sure they ain’t gettin’ into the corn. Probably keeps the Linux thing runnin’ smooth, makin’ sure it don’t get all clogged up. He also said somethin’ about track CPU, whatever that means.
Now, some folks get all worried, thinkin’ you can’t use that Microsoft Office on Linux. They say, “Oh no, it won’t work!” But don’t you believe ’em! I heard from a reliable source, someone who knows their stuff, that you can use it. You can run Microsoft Office on Linux! Don’t you panic now, it can be done! Just like puttin’ a new dress on an old hen, you can make it work.
They say there’s somethin’ called a “Windows VM“. Sounds like some kinda magic box to me. They say you gotta “set up a Windows VM on Linux“. Like buildin’ a little house inside a bigger house. And that little house lets you run those Windows things, like that Office 365. So it can run Windows applications, whatever those are. That’s like the magic of it, it is possible!
Now, how do ya do it? Well, I ain’t no computer expert, but I heard ’em talkin’ ’bout somethin’ called “Ubuntu” and PlayOnLinux, sounds like a game. They said somethin’ ’bout “Ubuntu Software” and “Install“. Guess you gotta click some buttons and wait, like waitin’ for your bread to rise in the oven. Then you gotta “launch” it, like launchin’ a boat into the river. Then somethin’ about an “Office tab” and a “search field“. Probably gotta type in what you’re lookin’ for. Like lookin’ for a lost needle in a haystack, I reckon.
- First, you gotta find this Ubuntu thing.
- Then you gotta install somethin’ called PlayOnLinux.
- Then you launch it, like a rocket!
- Then you find the Office thingy and click some more buttons.
And then there is another thing called Windows 365 Cloud PC, sounds like somethin’ up in the sky. They say you can get to it from your Linux thing. Like climbin’ a ladder to reach the clouds. They mention somethin’ called a “web client” and . Sounds like more computer mumbo jumbo to me. They say it is available. And there are somethin’ called “third-party clients” and “Azure Virtual Desktop“. Lord only knows what those are. Just more things to confuse an old lady like me.
Well, there you have it. That’s all I know about this Linux and Office 365 business. It’s all a bit much for me, but I hope it helps you young folks out. Just remember, even an old dog can learn new tricks, and even these complicated computer things can be figured out, eventually. Just like findin’ your way home in the dark, you just gotta keep at it until you see the light. And make sure your computer thing is runnin’ good. Like tendin’ to your garden, you gotta keep an eye on it and make sure it’s gettin’ what it needs. Otherwise, it won’t grow nothin’ but weeds!
You need to use that Linux monitoring, just like monitorin’ your cows in the field. Make sure they are healthy. They say it can ensure availability and health. Don’t ask me what that means exactly, but I guess it means keepin’ your computer happy and workin’. Just do not ask too much from an old lady, okay?
And do not forget to use that search bar in that PlayOnLinux to find that Office. You can either search or browse the list. There should be a long list for you to choose. Do not be afraid. I know it sounds complicated, but it is not that hard. Just be patient!
One more thing, that third-party clients to connect to Azure Virtual Desktop, I heard it is not free. You may need to pay for it. So if you are not rich, do not use it. That is what I heard from the market. They said it is expensive.
