Today, I ran into a little hiccup with the iCUE software on my Windows 11 PC. It was acting up and I needed to uninstall it, but it wouldn’t go quietly. So, I rolled up my sleeves and got to work.
Try the Easy Way First
First things first, I tried the usual way. I went to Windows Settings, then Apps, found Corsair iCUE in the list, clicked on it, and selected Modify. I hoped a simple repair install would do the trick. I followed the prompts, but no luck. It was still there, and still not working right.
Dive into Safe Mode
Since the easy way didn’t work, I decided to get a bit more technical. I rebooted my PC into Safe Mode. To do this, I went to Windows Settings, then System, Recovery, and clicked on Advanced Startup. After the reboot, I navigated through the options and chose Safe Mode (4).
Once in Safe Mode, I tried uninstalling iCUE again using the regular Windows uninstaller. I went back to Apps, found Corsair iCUE, and clicked Uninstall. This time, it worked! iCUE was finally gone.
Clean Up Leftovers
Even though iCUE was uninstalled, I know sometimes these programs leave behind some junk files. I didn’t want any leftover files causing issues later, so I did a quick cleanup. I went through and manually deleted the iCUE folders that were still hanging around.
Reinstall If Needed
After all that, if I needed to use iCUE again, I’d download the latest version from the official source and do a clean install. But for now, I’m just glad to have it off my system without any more trouble.
So yeah, that’s how I finally managed to uninstall iCUE from my Windows 11 PC. It took a bit of effort, but I got there in the end. Hope this helps someone out there who might be facing the same issue!
