So, I ran into this problem today where I just couldn’t get Piapro Studio to open on my Mac. It was really bugging me, I tried opening it multiple times but nothing happened. I needed to finish my work and I thought maybe I should check for some clues on the internet.
Then, I started searching, and I found that Piapro Studio doesn’t open if you didn’t install it properly. It means that you need to install Studio One Artist Piapro Edition first. It says if you are using a MAC, double-click on the Studio One logo in the applications folder in the Finder. I think maybe I should try this.
So I went ahead and reinstalled Studio One Artist Piapro Edition, making sure to follow the instructions to the letter. After the installation, I found the Studio One logo in my applications folder and double-clicked it. Guess what? It worked! Studio One opened up just fine, but that still didn’t launch Piapro Studio.
I went back to read some more stuff I found online. It said that if you are on one of the newer Macs with an M1 or M2 chip, you might have to do something called “Open using Rosetta.” I wasn’t really sure what Rosetta was, but it sounded like something that helps older apps work on these new chips. I am using M2, so I think I should try this.
- I went to my applications folder.
- I right-clicked on the Studio One icon.
- I clicked on “Get Info”.
- Then I saw a checkbox that said “Open using Rosetta” and I ticked it.
I tried opening Studio One again and boom! There was Piapro Studio, up and running. It was such a relief! Turns out, it was all about this Rosetta thing that lets older software run on the new Mac processors. I still don’t know what is “Rosetta” but who cares? I finally got it to work.
So, yeah, if you ever have trouble getting Piapro Studio to open on your Mac, especially if it’s one of the newer models, try installing the Studio One Artist Piapro Edition and then opening Studio One with Rosetta. That’s what did the trick for me!
