Okay, so the other day I had to use this thing called PSI Bridge Secure Browser for a test. I’d never heard of it before, but it’s basically a special browser you gotta use for some online exams. I’m on a Mac, so I’m gonna tell you about how it went for me.
First off, I went to find where to download this thing. It said I needed at least 500 MB of space, which was fine, my Mac’s got plenty of room. It also said I should use a good internet connection. Luckily my internet is pretty good, so no worries there.
Downloading and installing was pretty straightforward. I just followed the instructions, and boom, it was on my computer. But here’s the thing, this browser is like Fort Knox. Once you start your test, you can’t open anything else. No other apps, no other windows, nothing. It’s like your computer is on lockdown, which, I guess, is the point.
Before the test, I was messing around with the settings. They recommended a resolution of 1920 x 1080 or higher, and my Mac was already set to that, so that was easy. I was also checking out this little window at the top of the screen that showed my webcam view. It’s kinda weird seeing yourself like that, but I guess they need to make sure it’s actually you taking the test.
The day of the exam, I was a bit nervous. I mean, it’s not every day you use a browser that locks down your whole computer. I started it up, and there was this live chat button for support, which was kinda reassuring. It felt like I at least had a lifeline if something went wrong.
During the test, I realized how serious this browser is about security. It records your webcam and your screen, but only while you’re taking the test. They say they do this to make sure there’s no cheating and to keep your personal info safe. I don’t know how I feel about being recorded, but I get it. They’re just trying to keep things fair.
After I finished the test, I immediately shut down the browser. It was a relief to have my Mac back to normal. I saw some people complaining about this browser online, but honestly, it wasn’t that bad for me. No crashes, no problems. But it could be my Mac is just good, I am not sure.
- Make sure you have enough space on your computer before you download it.
- A good internet connection is crucial.
- This browser is super strict about security, so be prepared to be on lockdown during your test.
- There’s a live chat for support if you need it.
- They record your webcam and screen, but only during the test.
What I learned from this experience:
So yeah, that’s my story about using the PSI Bridge Secure Browser on my Mac. It’s a bit intense, but it does what it’s supposed to do. Just make sure you’re ready for a full computer lockdown, and you should be fine.
