Well, now, let me tell ya, this Starlink thing, sometimes it just ain’t workin’ like it should. You get all excited ’bout havin’ fancy internet out in the sticks, and then, bam! Nothin’. Says right there on the screen, “Starlink not connected to internet.” Dagnabbit!
First thing I’d do, and this is what my grandson taught me, is to unplug the whole shebang. Yep, pull the plug outta the wall for that there dish thingy outside and the router inside. Wait a good minute or two, count to ’bout a hundred real slow, then plug it all back in. Sometimes, that’s all it takes. Just gotta give it a little kick in the pants, you know?
Now, if that don’t work, and you’re still starin’ at that darn message, you gotta get a little tougher with it. Look around on that router box, there’s a little bitty hole somewhere. That’s the reset button. You gotta find somethin’ small, like a toothpick or a paperclip, and poke it in there real good. Push it in ’til you hear a click and hold it for a few seconds. That’ll make the thing go back to its factory settings, like when you first got it.
- Unplug Starlink dish and router.
- Wait a minute or two.
- Plug everything back in.
And if that don’t do the trick, well, then you gotta check them lights on the router. See if there’s any blinkin’ or nothin’. If there ain’t no lights at all, that means there ain’t no power goin’ to it. Make sure it’s plugged in good, and maybe try a different outlet. Sometimes, them outlets go bad, you know?
Now, if you can connect to the Starlink Wi-Fi, but it still says “no internet,” that’s a whole ‘nother story. My grandson says there’s an app for that Starlink thing. I ain’t too good with them apps, but he says you can click on the status message and it’ll tell you what’s wrong. Maybe it needs an update or somethin’. He’s always talkin’ ’bout updatin’ this and updatin’ that. Kids these days!
And if you’re still stuck, well, you might just have to factory reset that there router again. Sometimes, these things just get their wires crossed, you know? It’s like when my old radio used to get all staticky. Just gotta jiggle it around a bit, or in this case, reset it.
Another thing my grandson told me, is to make sure that there ain’t nothin’ blockin’ the dish outside. Them signals gotta travel through the air, you see. So, if you got a big ol’ tree or somethin’ in the way, that might be the problem. He says you gotta have a clear view of the sky. I don’t know how them satellites work up there, but he seems to know what he’s talkin’ about.
Anyways, I hope this helps you get your Starlink connected. It can be a real pain when it don’t work, but don’t give up. Just try them things I told ya, and you’ll be back to surfin’ the web in no time. Or at least, that’s what my grandson says. I mostly just use it to look at pictures of my grandkids and them cats on the internet.
And one more thing, if nothin’ works, maybe you gotta call them Starlink folks. They got people who know more about this stuff than me and my grandson put together. They can probably walk you through it, or maybe even send you a new one if somethin’s broke. Just don’t go throwin’ it in the creek, like my neighbor did with his old TV. That ain’t gonna fix nothin’!
Remember to be patient. Sometimes these things take a little time to sort out. It ain’t like bakin’ a cake, where you just follow the recipe and it’s done. This here internet stuff is complicated, or so they tell me. But if an old lady like me can figure out some of it, then you can too!
