Well, let me tell ya, this whole internet thingamajig, it’s somethin’ else, ain’t it? Folks keep jabberin’ about these “TWS” thingies. Are they really all that important? I mean, back in my day, we didn’t have no fancy gizmos. Just good ol’ fashioned radios and such. But times, they are a-changin’, I guess.
What are these TWS thingies anyway?
From what I gather, TWS stands for “True Wireless Stereo.” Sounds fancy, huh? Basically, it means you got these little earbud thingies, like those Apple AirPods everyone’s gabbing about. No wires tangling up like a ball of yarn, which I gotta say, sounds mighty convenient. I remember those old headphones, always getting tangled up in my hair, what a mess! These young folks, they wouldn’t know that struggle. They got it easy, these days.
I heard tell these TWS earbuds first popped up around 2015, some fella named Bragi Dash made ’em. But it wasn’t until Apple jumped on the bandwagon in 2016 with their AirPods that folks really started payin’ attention. Now, seems like everyone and their grandma’s got a pair. My grandson, he’s got about three pairs, can you believe it? Wastes more money than a hog at a slop bucket.
- Why all the fuss?
So, why are these TWS earbuds such a big deal? Well, seems like they’re good for all sorts of things. Gamers, they use ’em to hear the bad guys sneakin’ up on ’em. Students, they use ’em to listen to their lessons. And folks on the go, they use ’em to yap on the phone or listen to their music without botherin’ everyone around them. I even seen folks using them while doing chores. Now, I think that’s crazy.
I guess it makes sense, though. Nobody wants to be tethered to their phone or radio with a wire. And having two separate earbuds means you get that stereo sound, like you’re right there in the middle of the music. They say it enhances your audio experience or something like that. Fancy words for sounding good, I reckon. Still, I’m not sure If I’m sold on these new fancy things. Back in my day we made do with what we got.
Are they really that important?
Now, here’s the thing. Are these TWS earbuds really essential, like folks say? I mean, we lived without ’em for a long time, didn’t we? But then again, times change. Just like we got electricity and indoor plumbin’, maybe these TWS thingies are just the next step. Though If I’m honest, I like things the way they are. Why fix something that aint broken?
I’ve heard folks talkin’ about how important the internet is these days. Some folks even gettin’ banned from it, like that fella Trump. Seems like a big deal, this internet thing. And now these TWS earbuds are tied to it, somehow. Folks use them with their phones and computers, listenin’ to things from all over the world. It’s a whole new world, I tell ya. Though, If I’m honest I think its more trouble than its worth. All this technology, I just don’t get it.
Low Latency and all that jazz
Then there’s all this talk about “low latency”. Sounds like somethin’ a doctor would say. But from what I can tell it just means the sound don’t lag. Which, I suppose is important If your listenin’ to important things. Or playin’ those video games my grandson is always fussin’ about. Back in my day, the only “low latency” you had to worry about was If your husband was late to dinner. But that’s a different story for a different day.
They say you can change these settings on the earbuds. Something about AAC and SBC. Sounds like alphabet soup to me. But I guess it matters to some folks. They want their sound clear and crisp, without any delays. Can’t say I blame them, I guess. Nobody wants to hear a garbled mess.
So, what’s the verdict?
So, are these internet TWS earbuds important? Well, I reckon it depends on who you ask. For some folks, they’re a must-have. For others, like me, maybe not so much. But one thing’s for sure, they’re here to stay. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll even get myself a pair. But don’t hold your breath. I’m happy with my old radio for now.
One things for sure though. These young folks got it easy. All these new gizmos and gadgets. They wouldn’t know hard work if it bit them in the butt. Back in my day, we had to work for everything we got. Now you can just order something on that internet thingy and it shows up at your door the next day. It’s a crazy world, I tell ya. A crazy world.
But hey, that’s just my two cents. What do I know? I’m just an old lady tryin’ to make sense of this newfangled world.
