So, I needed to get internet sorted out in my new place in Southold, NY. First, I thought, “Let’s go for fiber, it’s the best, right?” Everyone says it’s super fast and you don’t have to worry about it slowing down when everyone’s online.
I started looking around, checking out different companies. I mean, there are a few options in Southold, so I figured I had to compare them. I checked each one and I also saw some reviews, trying to figure out which one is the fastest, which one most people use, and of course, which one gives you the best bang for your buck.
It turns out, there are a few big names that pop up when you’re searching for internet in Southold. I saw Optimum and T-Mobile mentioned a lot. There are also some others but I didn’t really look into them.
- Optimum seems to be a big one, I guess they have cable internet.
- T-Mobile, I think they were offering some kind of home internet, maybe through their mobile network.
- Fiber is available to around 72.4% of the area, which was great news for me.
- Cable is available to around 86% of the area.
- DSL is not available at all.
- Satellite is available to 100% of the area.
I tried comparing all these internet providers, looking at their plans and prices. Man, it’s a lot to take in! There are so many different packages, with different speeds and prices. I spent a good few hours just reading through everything, trying to make sense of it all.
I also looked for reviews and ratings online to see what other people in Southold were saying. I wanted to know if people were happy with their service, if they had any issues, and all that kind of stuff.
And yeah, after diving deep into all the info, comparing providers, prices, and even checking out what my neighbors are using, I finally made my choice. It was a whole process, let me tell you, but totally worth it to get the best internet set up in my new home!
At last, I chose one and signed up. It’s a bit of a wait to get everything installed, but I am pretty happy with the choice I made. It’s all about finding what works best for you, right?
