So, today I got fed up with those annoying YouTube ads popping up every five minutes on my iPhone. I mean, who has time for that, right? I decided I had to do something about it. First, I tried messing around with the settings in Safari. You know, the usual stuff like blocking pop-ups and all. Turns out, that did nothing for the ads on the YouTube app.
Then, I thought, maybe there’s something in the YouTube app settings itself. I dived into the app, poking around everywhere, trying to find an option to disable ads. I turned off the comment and notification on my videos, but those ads were still there, bugging me every time I tried to watch a video.
After that, I took a break, grabbed a cup of coffee, and thought, “What about those browser extensions?” I’ve used ad blockers on my laptop before, but could they work on mobile? I did a bit of searching, found a few that sounded promising, and installed one.
- I opened the YouTube app again, played a video, and waited.
- And waited.
- Still waiting.
No ads! It was like magic. Finally, I could watch my videos in peace. That was such a relief. I kept watching, switching videos, just to make sure it wasn’t a fluke. Nope, still no ads. I actually did it! So now, I’m chilling, watching videos without interruptions. It’s so simple, I can’t believe I didn’t do this sooner. It is like cutting out the unnecessary part, and I am so happy with this result. If you’re like me and can’t stand those ads, trust me, finding a good ad blocker for your phone is a game changer.
