Okay, so I was messing around with the new macOS Sequoia, and I really wanted to try out the iPhone mirroring feature. Sounds cool, right? But I just couldn’t get it to work. I kept getting stuck.
First off, I made sure my iPhone and Mac were both logged into the same Apple account. I mean, that’s a no-brainer, duh. And they were right next to each other on my desk. I even made sure to unlock my iPhone as per some notes I found online.
I dug around in the System Settings on my Mac, specifically in the “Desktop & Dock” section, looking for anything related to mirroring. There’s this thing called “Widgets”. I went in there, but there was no setting that mentioned mirroring directly. Instead, I found an option: “Use iPhone widgets”. I was like, “Hmm, maybe this is it?” So, I toggled it on, thinking that might be the key.
After that, I tried a bunch of times, restarting both devices, checking all the settings, making sure everything was updated. Man, I spent hours on this. But still nothing. The mirroring just wouldn’t kick in. I was following all the steps, but it felt like I was missing something obvious.
I even double-checked if iPhone Mirroring was even available in my country. Turns out it was! So that wasn’t the issue. My devices should have been compatible, and all the settings seemed to be in order.
Ultimately, I couldn’t figure it out. I did everything I was supposed to, but the iPhone mirroring on macOS Sequoia just wouldn’t work for me. It was a real head-scratcher, and to be honest, pretty frustrating. Maybe I’ll give it another go later, or perhaps there’s a bug they need to fix.
It’s a bummer because it looked like such a neat feature. I really wanted to see my iPhone screen on my Mac and play around with it. Maybe you guys will have better luck than me. Let me know if you figure out a fix!
