Hey everyone, today I’m gonna share my little adventure on how I messed around with Windows Server icons. So, the other day, I was thinking it would be cool to change up the usual, boring icons on my Windows Server. You know, give it a bit of a personal touch. I mean, why not, right?
Starting the Quest
First off, I dove into the internet, just Googling around to see what’s out there. Typed in stuff like “Windows Server icons” and “free icons download” to get an idea. Found a bunch of websites, but honestly, most of them looked kinda sketchy. Finally, I stumbled upon a few that seemed legit, with tons of icons to choose from.
The Hunt for the Perfect Icon
I spent a good chunk of time just browsing through all sorts of icons. They had everything – from super sleek and modern designs to some really wild and wacky ones. I downloaded a few packs that caught my eye. They were mostly in PNG and SVG formats, which is pretty standard.
Making the Magic Happen
Then came the fun part – actually applying these icons. I right-clicked on the files or folders I wanted to change, went to “Properties,” and then “Customize.” There’s an option there to “Change Icon.” Clicked on that, browsed to where I saved my downloaded icons, and just picked the one I liked. It was surprisingly straightforward.
Experimenting and Tweaking
- I played around with different icons for different types of files.
- Tried out various styles to see what looked best.
- Even mixed and matched some to get a unique look.
The End Result
After a bit of trial and error, I finally settled on a set that I really liked. It made my server desktop look way cooler and more personalized. Plus, it was just fun to do something different for a change. It’s not every day you get to customize your server like that, you know?
So, that’s my little icon adventure. Nothing too technical, just a bit of fun spicing up the old Windows Server. If you’re bored with the default look, I’d say give it a shot. It’s an easy way to make your server feel a bit more ‘you’.
Hope you enjoyed this little story, catch you guys later!
